Social Events

The Old Town Neighborhood Association typically hosts a social event or program once a quarter. We also invite speakers to our board meetings, usually on a current issue or topic of interest. In 2020, we did cancel most functions, but managed to continue meeting periodically via Zoom. We held, in conjunction with neighboring Monterey Vista Neighborhood, the only neighborhood forum for the local candidates, so residents could hear each mayoral and council candidate discuss issues of importance to our community (safely via Zoom).

The OTNA social committee planned our first live social event of 2021 with a gathering in Veteran’s Park on July 3rd. It was well attended by nearly 50 people, who enjoyed snacks and socializing on a beautiful afternoon. We often have had a friendly bocce game at the Custom House courts in the fall, and typically have a wonderful membership appreciation event in the fall or beginning of the year.

Events put on by Old Town Neighborhood Association are posted in our periodic newsletters and on our website. In addition, residents receive bulletins once or twice a month that also include events that are within walking distance of Old Town. City meetings on important issues are posted in the bulletins as well, as agendas are often announced just three days prior.

If you have suggestions for possible social events or would like to become involved on our social committee, please contact us (choose “Social Event”).
