Saturday, October 28, 2023, 11-3pm – Free Family Fun Day at the Monterey Museum of Art, 599 Pacific Street. Craft your own paper pumpkins, construct cute pom pom spiders, and design a spooky haunted house at the museum. Free admission for all to the galleries and art events.
Tuesday, October 31, 2023, 4-7 pm – Halloween on the Wharf – Halloween Trick or Treat by the Bay and Costume Contest with Cash Prizes. Come in costume for fun on the Old Fisherman’s Wharf. Enjoy Halloween candy give-aways and photo ops with ghoulish caracters along the wharf while listening to the Halloween DJ play spooky Halloween music favorites. Special costume contest at 5 pm with cash prizes for age groups under 8, 9-21 years, 22+ and groups of 3 or more. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in age categories are $100, $50 and $25 respectively. Group of 3 or more 1st prize $150; 2nd $75, 3rd $50.
Wednesday, November 1, 2023 -Old Town Neighborhood Association Annual Member Appreciation Evening at the Perry House. 6pm-8pm Reservations are filling up for our fabulous annual party at the Perry House for adult members of Old Town Neighborhood Association. RSVP with your names, address, and contact information to philbussey2@gmail.com. Enjoy an evening of great food, wine, beer and other beverages at this lovely, historical home overlooking the harbor. Saturday, November 4, 2023, 11-4 – Celebration of the Western Flyer’s Return to Monterey Bay. Festivities begin at 11:00 on Fisherman’s Wharf, with live music, science, and art activities. At noon, a boat parade will lead the boat into the harbor. Best dressed Boat Contest. 12:30 Welcoming at the California Dock. Free tours 1-4 pm of the restored and historic Western Flyer, the boat sailed by Doc Ricketts and John Steinbeck to the Sea of Cortez. In case of rain, festivities move to the Stanton Center.
Tuesday, November 7, 2-4 pm “That Pirate Bouchard” – Lecture by author William Briggs at the Casa Serano, sponsored by Monterey History and Art. Free to members of MHAA. $10 for non-members.
Sunday, November 12, 2023 6 am to noon – Monterey Bay Half Marathon. Watch the finishers come in near the Custom House Plaza.
