Tuesday, July 4, 10 am – Annual Independence Day Parade down Alvarado to Del Monte and back on Calle Principal. The festivities continue at the Colton Hall lawn from 10:45-5 pm with live music, food for sale from non-profits, and music!
Tuesday, July 4, 11-3 pm – Living History Day 2023 at the Memory Garden behind the Pacific House Museum at Custom House Plaza. The whole family can enjoy historic demonstrations and participate in 19th century games, rope-making, leather stamping and cooking. Free.
Tuesday, July 4 – Independence Day on the Wharf – Come get a photo op at the wharf which will be decorated for Independence Day. Enjoy a free piece of red, white, and blue salt-water taffy from costumed characters at Candy World, plus find special candy, food and souvenirs to purchase from merchants on the wharf.
Tuesday, July 4, 1 pm Independence Day Concert at Devendorf Park, Carmel. Free. 1pm – Cypressaires perform, followed by the Monterey County Pops at 2 pm. Carmel Lions club will sell hot dogs, bratwurst & sauerkraut with chips and beverage.
Friday, July 7, 5-7 pm First Friday at Monterey Museum of Art, 559 Pacific Street. Enjoy free admission during this special after-hours evening with refreshments. Wine sponsored by Albatross Ridge.

Saturday, July 15, 2-4 pm – Old Town Neighborhood Association Annual Summer Social in the Veteran’s Park Group Site 1 (on the main lawn, close to the play structure). This is a free family event for all Old Town residents, and a great time to socialize with neighbors and enjoy food and perhaps a friendly game of bocce, corn hole or Ladder Ball. OTNA will provide snacks and cold drinks (no alcohol allowed) but residents are encouraged to bring a hand-held sweet or savory snack to share. Dogs on leash welcome too. Reservations not required.
