The proposed roundabout for the intersection of Madison/Larkin and Herrmann is again on the city council agenda this Tuesday, July 7, at 7 pm. Item 16 is a motion for reconsideration of Resolution No 26-083 C.S., which awarded a construction contract to The Don Chapin Company, Inc, for the Madison/Herrmann/Larkin Intersection Safety Improvement Project and directed staff to conduct outreach, be open to project modifications, request at extension of Grant Funding, and return to the Council for final project approval; and if reconsideration Motion is granted, decide whether to approve the Madison/Herrmann/Larkin Intersection Safety Improvement Project, accept related grant funding, and award a contract to the Don Chapin Company Inc in the amount of $140,306.50.”
It should be noted that the Public Works outreach meeting, announced in our June 29 OTNA bulletin, is scheduled for this Thursday, July 9, from 6-8 pm at the Monterey Public Library Community Room, which is afterthe Tuesday meeting at which they may give a final approval! Although some residents who had written Public Works received an email announcement of the July 9 meeting, no written announcement has been received by mail to residents to our knowledge. Old Town sent a request that written announcement of the outreach meeting be mailed to residents, as Old Town has only a partial list of emails for residents.
